Welcome. Turkey and Yemen are two friendly countries with deep-rooted human, cultural and social ties dating back to the 16th century.

Our Embassy was opened in 1988 in the Arab Republic of Yemen (North Yemen). The jurisdiction of our embassy expanded into the "Republic of Yemen" after the unification of North and South Yemen in 1990. As the political crisis in Yemen deepened and turned into a war, our Embassy, ​​like the representatives of other countries in Sana’a, suspended its activities as of 16 February 2015. The evacuation of our citizens from Yemen was completed in April 2015. Our Embassy is temporarily operating in Riyadh.

The Republic of Turkey supports the efforts for a political solution led by the UN to ensure peace and stability by reestablishing the legitimate administration in the country. Turkey is a member of the G-19 group that observes and supports the transition process in Yemen.

Our country also contributes to international efforts to meet the urgent humanitarian and health needs of the Yemeni people.

Yemen ordinary passport holders are subject to visas when they wish to visit Turkey. Detailed information on the subject can be accessed at www.mfa.gov.tr.

We have been continuing our efforts with the aim of furthering Turkey-Yemen relations with my colleagues since the start of my tenure on 8 May 2021.
